I can’t relate to the feminist sentiment in this article, and I do ‘Lycra it hot’, but everything else in this article really speaks to me. Alecia Simmonds captures the thrill of cycling so well. Get me off this bus!
My mum, brother and I took part in a little role reversal this evening when Mum rode her bike for the first time in 15 years. Like a real parent, I held my breath more than a few times, questioned why I’d encouraged her back onto the bike at all and would’ve gladly wrapped her up in cotton wool if she’d let me!
Congrats Mum, very proud of you!
